What is the CANN?

Annual Congress of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CANN-SCN2)

The Annual Congress of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CANN) is one of the events that the Catalan Society of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (SCN2) organizes along the year in order to popularize and give visibility to the research done in Catalonia. The event has been taking place during the catalan scientific festival “La Setmana de la Ciència” for the first four editions.  However, this fifth edition will take place in person the 10th of  February, and will be focused on Single Atom Catalysis.

Previous Editions

Its very first edition was devoted to one of the main world issues: the environmental alterations caused by the human activity.

The First Annual Congress of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology adressed the research areas of production and storage of energy, environment and sustainable development inside the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.

Further on, the Second CANN was focused on the recent developments on Nanobiomedicine in the region of Catalonia.

For the Third CANN, we set the topic on the recent nano-related research on quantum computing.

Lastly, for the Fourth edition, the topic, as you may remember, was 0D Materials.

And now, for this Fifth Edition, the spotlight is taken by the Single Atom Catalysis topic.

Fair to say, the CANN is marked by variety!
